FINCA SON BAUZA Banyalbufar
Nestled on the slopes of the Tramuntana mountains and with beautiful views over the renowned Arabian terraces of Banyalbufar to the deep blue sea, Finca Son Bauza is the ideal base for families, hikers, peace seekers, nature lovers and large groups. The history of the stately mansions dates back to the 15th century and although it has undergone several restauration phases, the owners have always taken great care to preserve the original character and flair of the Finca, while adjusting it to modern life.
Overall, the property boasts 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, divided into the spacious 4-bedroom main house and the 2-bedroom guest house, both with well furnished open-plan living-/dining and fully equipped kitchen, private terraces and a seperate entrance. Only recently the owner decided to offer the property to holiday guests as a whole – or either of the two independent entities as a holiday retreat for smaller guest parties, who appreciate tranquil holidays off the beaten tracks.
The main house comprises of three levels. The ground level is the entrance level opening into a former living room with fireplace and dining table, which can nowadays be used for watching TV. Adjacent to the left is a bathroom with shower and to the right a summer kitchen opening onto the very large ground level terrace area. Three bedrooms and one family bathroom are located on the first floor, one of which is opening to a large private sea view terrace. The forth bedroom with bathroom en-suite is located on the second level and so is the beautiful open plan living room with American kitchen, large dining table, lounge seats and access to the main terrace with fabulous sea views.
The guest appartment has only 2 floor levels. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one en-suite) are located on the entrance level and a staircase leads up to the spacious living area with open-plan kitchen and dining table for 6 flowing onto a sea-view terrace with BBQ, dining table and two sun-loungers. More terraces attached to the mansion and other sunny and sun-shaded retreats can be found in the typically terraced garden areas of the 40.000 m² property.
To cool down on the hot days of the year, the secluded, large natural water basin in the back yard offers guests a very special pool and sun bathing experience with fabulous views across the countryside to the ocean. Due to the permanent flow of fresh mountain water, which was formally used to irrigate the fruit and vegetable plants, it is more a swimming pool nowadays than a basin for cultural use.
If you prefer the ocean for swimming, the small pebble beach of Banyalbufar is just a little more than a kilometer away. You will also find a small supermarket, small shops and several restaurants, bars and cafes with sea-view terraces within the picturesque village of Banyalbufar.
